Hayat & Co. Solicitors
Hayat & Co. was established in 1998 to provide members of the public with accurate, helpful and appropriate legal advice to safeguard individual rights.
We strive to ensure that every client receives reliable, up-to-date and specialist legal advice on which they can safely and confidently rely. We believe every client should have the fullest assurance that their acting solicitor is fully aware of the circumstances of their case before giving advice or providing assistance.
We endeavour at all times to act in our clients’ best interests.
We seek to provide every client with our full commitment and reassurance that we will deal with their case with the utmost professionalism, integrity, skill and care.
We recognise the need to provide clients with affordable yet highly skilled legal services.
Our approach is to handle a client’s matter with as much importance as if it were our own. Fees are managed transparently; our focus is always on achieving fairness and justice.
The principal solicitor at Hayat & Co. is Mr Amar Hayat, who has over 20 years’ specialist experience in various areas of law—predominantly and extensively human rights law, including all aspects of immigration and British nationality law. Mr Hayat will personally accept initial instructions and is prepared to pursue a client’s case through all available avenues, including to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, where circumstances require or justify it. In the pursuit of justice, Hayat & Co. may provide pro bono assistance where appropriate.
Since inception, Hayat & Co. has been considered by many organisations—including charitable organisations (such as the Refugee Council unaccompanied minors unit, Migrant Helpline, a number of church and faith bodies, homelessness organisations and domestic abuse services) and, at times, departments within the Home Office (UKVI)—as an ethical, reputable and diligent firm.
As a result, numerous organisations over the years have entrusted Hayat & Co. with referrals of vulnerable and destitute individuals in urgent need of help. We have often assisted clients without funding or remuneration and, where necessary, sought urgent relief before the courts during emergency hours to avoid people sleeping on the streets or being placed at risk.
Hayat & Co. has a strong record in immigration and human rights cases, frequently advancing vulnerable clients’ causes to a successful conclusion. This commitment is based on our genuine concern to protect those most in need of justice.
Our efforts and vigilance within human rights and immigration law have, directly or indirectly, contributed to improvements in immigration practice and procedure.
We welcome instructions in challenging and complex cases that other firms may be unwilling to undertake, whether due to cost or other reasons, particularly where the interests of justice are concerned.
Our primary concern is to see the law develop in a fair, equal and progressive way for all.
Human rights and immigration law and practice have evolved considerably since 1998. Historically, parts of this field were under-resourced and inconsistently regulated, and many individuals suffered poor service—sometimes with serious and irreversible consequences for them and their families. Hayat & Co. is keen to identify and represent such individuals to help correct past injustice. We encourage anyone concerned about past representation to seek reliable, specialist advice and, where necessary, a qualified reassessment of their case.
Hayat & Co. has extensive experience across almost every type of human rights, immigration, asylum and nationality matter, at all levels of proceedings—from the First-tier Tribunal to higher courts and, where appropriate, the European Court of Human Rights. We represent clients from around the world and have access to professional interpreters in any language.
